Day 1 at CEDIA was an action packed day.
The traffic through the booth has been excellent and our vendors have given us plenty to talk about.
In our booth and in a dedicated area on the show floor the focus is Health and Welness. We are showing the Grandcare system as well as the Visonic Amberx Personal Emergency Response (PERS) system. It has been fascinating to see how many dealers have been entering this space and are looking for product solutions. It makes sense since the low voltage contactor is so well positioned to take advantage of this expanding, profitable business. During an industry live event a speaker (I apologize I did not get his name) made an excellent point, “The health and wellness business will never shrink; it can’t! The population is aging and we will need to turn to technology to solve some very real upcoming issues.” I can’t agree more. We released a Wellness flyer for CEDIA and I have attached a link below.
Another announcement for the CEDIA show was that Worthington Distribution is carrying 2gig Technologies. Lance Dean with 2gig has been in the booth showing off their incredible self contained, touch screen based security system with Z-wave. You can even add a GSM card for iPhone integration, monitoring and programming. It is truly amazing. They will even have Z-Wave lock integration by the end of year. Worthington Distribution is taking pre-orders for 2Gig.
HAI has been very busy preparing for CEDIA. We are showing the 5.7e Intercom in our booth! Now you have another huge reason to offer the 5.7e and it is still the same price. Don’t forget, this month we have the 5.7e on is on specialwith a power injector. For those with older 5.7e’s, all you will need is Automation Studio.
We are also showing the Music Gateway with 3 streams of audio integrating with the Russound MCA-C5. Control is provided by the 5.7e and the MP3 metadata is shown with album art! I think the Music Gateway is going to be a real hit. Stay tuned as HAI adds more features including some streaming options.
Following on the heals of the HAI iPod App, they announced that they will be releasing an App for Android. I saw some early code and it looks like it is going to be great. Look for a release in the next 8 – 12 weeks.
During the show I was interviewed about our booth. They wanted to see Z-wave in action. Check it out here:
